Who We Are

The Insource team combines over ten years of experience in recruiting for law firms throughout Australia and New Zealand with governance, marketing and finance functions that draw on extensive experience in private equity investment and successful start-ups. 

Board of Directors

Jenn Little - Managing Director

A business owner, innovator and classically trained professional opera singer, Jenn has an extensive network across business and the arts on both sides of the Tasman.  A natural connector, Jenn enjoys developing long-term relationships built on trust, transparency and commitment. Known for her creative thinking, progressive approach, energy and passion, Jenn leads change. After seven years building and managing a trans-Tasman search and recruitment business to include key national executive appointments, Jenn has entered the tech sector having built the Insource bespoke technology platform for law firms and other professional service sectors.


Rob Baan - Director

Rob has been an owner of multiple manufacturing companies with wholly owned overseas distribution based in Australia and the USA. Rob was instrumental in growing the export side of these NZ based businesses.
He currently is the Managing Director of engineering company Etech NZ Ltd and a Director of a diverse range of other companies in the robotics, horticulture and waste sectors.

He gets his relaxation from exploring the NZ outdoors on foot or riding his mountain bike with family and friends. His wife and three adult kids ensure he understands the importance of a healthy work life balance.

Kevin D’Ambros-Smith - Director

Kevin has a background with some of New Zealand’s leading advertising agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy and DDB. He has helped to grow the business of major clients like Telecom Mobile, Lion Breweries, IBM and McDonalds. Following that, Kevin set up his own online retail and media business and built them into multi-million businesses. Kevin is currently a coach and adviser with Auckland based incubator Icehouse.

Kevin is also a sports nut. You name it, he loves it… rugby league, softball, cricket, tennis, table tennis, squash, skiing and more. He also loves sailing and his current obsession is finding out every possible snippet of information he can about the AC75 Americas Cup boats.

Management Team

Jenn Little - Director

Jenn has more than twenty years’ experience working with the legal sector. After working in leading law firms for eight years, Jenn has spent the last 12 years searching and placing lawyers into many of New Zealand and Australia’s top-tier, mid-tier and boutique law firms. Her deep knowledge of the legal sector has seen her regularly advise on succession planning, business growth, talent development and retention and remuneration.

Beyond Insource, Jenn is a classically trained professional opera singer. A past semi-finalist in the Lexus Song Quest, Jenn has an extensive performance repertoire as a soprano soloist throughout New Zealand and Australia.

Cat McCallum - Recruitment Partner and Market Analyst

Cat can be insourced as a recruitment partner on an as needed basis to manage the part or parts of the recruitment process you need help with.  Our unbundled recruitment service will align with your process to identify, connect and place lawyers with the right experience, capability, aspiration and culture fit into your firm or company. In addition, Cat draws real time data analytics from the Insource Platform providing law firms in New Zealand and Australia with up to date market analysis about talent movement, law firm growth/shrinkage, firm’s talent makeup and positioning to enable key decision makers to identify their talent gaps and opportunities in line with their business strategy.  Cat is available to present market observations directly to your executive team over and can tailor any presentation to your specific needs.   

Previously a senior lawyer in a New Zealand top-tier law firm, Cat understands first-hand how important it is to source the right talent for your practice.

Outside of work Cat loves spending time with family and friends, with good food and wine, or some serenity with a good book and a throw.

Sharon Murphy - Business Operations and Technology

Sharon has a talent for creating and implementing efficient internal systems and process and is responsible for managing and training our research team. She also project manages all development and maintenance relating to the Insource technology platform.
Sharon brings an extensive legal services background to Insource having previously worked at top-tier firms across New Zealand, Sydney, and London in the capacity of administrator, legal executive, project coordinator, and board secretary. Sharon works directly with our Managing Director in the day-to-day business operations of Insource.

Sharon originates from a small farming town in Northland. Outside work, she enjoys teaching and training taekwondo, alongside her two daughters.

Josh Baan - Finance

Josh is a talented financial manager who in addition to managing the finances of Insource, is also Chief Financial Officer in a portfolio of private equity companies that cover the engineering and industrial property sectors. Josh has a B.Com in Accounting and Finance from Otago University.

Outside of work, Josh is a champion runner who has represented New Zealand in multiple overseas athletics competitions. Last year he ran for NZ in the world Cross-Country championships in Denmark.

Mike Frederickson – Marketing Consultant

Mike is a career marketer who can point to successful launches of brands in areas as varied as banking (Kiwibank), fragrances (Lynx) peer to peer lending (AUSX listed Harmoney) and New Zealand’s first at scale online doctors practice

He has done marketing consulting work for companies that includes Spark, Briscoes and Panasonic and held Head of Marketing roles for GE Money, Suncorp Life and Harmoney. 

Outside work, Mike is a passionate kayaker and trail cyclist and is slowly working his way through the great New Zealand cycle trail that runs the length of New Zealand.
